A Nice Church Reading that isn’t Corinthians 13:1-13

After much searching we finally found a nice church reading. My fiancé especially likes it as it mentions foxes. On Saturday he’s stepped in fox poo and so left his shoes in the shed overnight so he could sort them in the morning. When he went to look for them the next morning they were gone! We later discovered them in the garden (one on the lawn and one in a den behind a bush) – the fox had carried them there and chewed bits off them! Naughty London fox!

Song of Solomon, Chapter 2, verses 10-15

My lover spoke and said to me,
“Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, and come with me.
See! The winter is past;
The rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;

The cooing of doves

Rival Wedding Shoes

I’ve bee spring cleaning lately and trying to sort through two wardrobes of clothes and shoes. I hardly ever throw anything away so I thought it was about time to make clear some space. And with all that space what’s left to do but go and buy some new clothes (I can already hear the despairing voice of my fiancé shouting ‘Nooooo!’)?

There were lots of old clothing and shoe treasures that I’d forgotten about including these glorious gold heels I had bought in the sales years ago. I’ve never had any opportunity to wear them and it suddenly occurred to me what great wedding shoes they’d make.

I already have a pair of Victorian wedding boots that I adore but I’m going to try these shoes on with the dress just in case. Why can’t a bride have two pairs of shoes?!

A Perfect Spring Wedding

This Easter weekend I had the great pleasure of going to a good friend’s wedding celebrations (the first of my seven!). She had got married in Finland the previous week and this Saturday she had a celebration for family and friends in Gloucestershire. We all had so much fun and I wanted to share some details of their beautiful spring wedding.

Daffodils and tulips filled enamel pots and Finnish glass jars in her parents barn.

The Bride and Groom met while working at sea so each table was decorated with very adorable child’s drawings of boats and sea creatures.

Kids were encourage to dress up as something to do with the sea. There were lots of piartes, sailors, mermaids and, my favourite, an unbelievably cute baby dressed in a shrimp costume!

Ahhhhhh! It was a perfect wedding reception. Congrats to the happy couple!
